Tampa turned one year old on July 15th and she celebrated with a pool party that included her boxer foster brother and a golden retriever friend.  Tampa was fearless with jumping into the pool and with swimming. With her life jacket on, she also liked playing with the pool toys outside of the pool. For Tampa’s most recent obedience class, she went on a class field trip to Home Depot.  Tampa did great and was very confident, although she still struggles with getting excited to meet new people. Tampa is doing so well in foster and is very deserving of finding an amazing forever family.

Tampa continues to do well in her foster home. Because of the recent heatwave, her foster mom has introduced her to puzzle time and a snuffle mat, which she is really enjoying.  Tampa is also getting some extra daycare time because it is indoors. A few weeks ago, Tampa’s foster mom did some dog sitting and Tampa really enjoyed playing with a couple of new boxer friends.  She is still going to obedience class, and Tampa now knows “down” and “leave it.”  She is very treat motivated, which makes her easy to train (although she does still have her puppy distractability). We are surprised that this adorable 11 month old girl hasn’t been scooped up yet. She has a wonderful temperament and doesn’t let her hearing impairment slow her down at all. Tampa would do best with a securely fenced yard and a male dog companion!

Tampa went to doggie daycare for the first time and she had a blast! She will be going once a week to continue her socialization with other dogs. Tampa’s foster mom is working hard at keeping her socialized. She went to a brewery and received lots of attention from all the guests there. Tampa will also be starting obedience class soon. She is now fully housebroken and will ring a bell when she wants to go outside. Tampa loves being outside and wants all her toys outside in the yard with her. She will play fetch for hours! Tampa would do best with a young dog who is playful and can keep up with her energy level. She also need a securely fenced yard in her new home. If you can meet Tampa’s needs, apply today! This wonderful puppy is ready for a forever home of her own.

Tampa is very treat motivated and has been picking up signs. She now knows the signs for potty, eat, play, and stop. Her foster mom is working on come and stay. She is becoming more independent as she gets settled in. Tampa loves to play with her toys in the backyard. If you get tired of throwing them to her, Tampa will happily entertain herself by tossing them in the air and chasing them. She goes easily into her crate when you throw treats in. Tampa is a bundle of energy and is going to make a wonderful addition to a lucky family!

Tampa is a 9 month old deaf female who was surrendered to an overcrowded city shelter in Maryland when her owner could no longer care for her. Tampa’s former owner described her personality as energetic, sweet, and loving. She has been around both dogs and cats. At the shelter, Tampa could be found sitting quietly in her kennel run and observing everything around her. When she was taken out of this scary environment, Tampa displayed all of her wiggles and affection.  She was recently spayed and brought up to date on all vet care.  Tampa just arrived at her new foster home in Virginia and she is settling in well. Tampa loves toys and she enjoys playing in the yard.  Tampa does the best zoomies! She really looks to the other dog for guidance, so we would love to see her placed with a male dog companion. Tampa would also do best with a securely fenced yard.
