Stella was the name of my senior girl who I adopted from AABR in June of 2021. She passed in October of 2023 from cancer. She was the absolute best, and I miss her every day.

Meet Stella. At one year of age Stella was released from the breeding circuit due to a softball sized prolapsed uterus. This happens in the mill/breeding circuit. This mill chose not to give her the much needed medical attention and give her to AABR. This is common on mills. They do  not spend money to help or save a life. They will discard of it.

We are passionate on sharing the stories for awareness. We want you to know the laws in Pennsylvania are weak and do not protect the animals as they should. This is why the mills can continue to operate. We are as angry as you.

We want you to know of the suffering. Do not buy puppies in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. Behind the rolling green hills, deep behind the beautiful farm land, out of the public’s sight are the cages of suffering.

Do not buy on-line and in pet stores. We of course encourage you to rescue and adopt.

Back to Stella. She is receiving the medical care needed. She has spunky in her short time with us. She enjoys the company of a young male lab called Gunner. She would like for there to be a young male in her next home along with a fenced yard to romp and play, soft beds and plenty of toys!

Stella is good with children. She is fostered with a 12 year old. We have no cat exposure for Stella- so safety of the cat- no kitties.
