Message for “Name a Dog” donation:
Sandi was my first boxer. We did not know about rescue. But we got into rescue to help other boxers. Sandi was a great ambassador for three years. She welcomed many fosters during this time. Sadly, we lost her to a brain tumor when she was four.  I finally feel ready to share her story and name.

Sandi is a great mix of sassy and loving. She enjoys snuggles with her foster parents and following her foster siblings around. Sandi is very treat motivated and is learning her basic commands. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, another dog of the opposite sex, and somebody home to continue the great progress she is making with house training.

Sandi has the most amazing temperament. She loves her crate and has been sleeping through the night. Sandi is making progress with her potty training and she has been going every time she is taken outside. She played really well with her previous foster brother, a three year old male boxer, and she copied everything he did. Sandi is now in foster with two of her siblings and three adult dogs. Sandi’s current foster mom indicates she is a great mix of feisty and chill. She is a silly, playful girl who lets you know when she wants attention. We would love to find Sandi a home with a male dog that is young enough to appreciate her energy and a securely fenced yard.

We were able to help a second litter of puppies in rescue over the weekend. We were contacted by a breeder who was no longer able to care for the puppies. Thanks to the quick action of several volunteers, we were able to get all of the puppies into foster homes. They just turned 7 weeks old today and will be ready to go to their new homes next week (February 26th). Please make sure your home is a good match for a puppy this age before submitting an application. Sandi will need somebody home often to work on her house training and socialization. She will need an active family that is willing to make a lifelong commitment for her. If there is another dog in the home, they need to be able to appreciate the energy and antics of a young puppy.

We will be reviewing all applications and looking for homes that understand and meet the needs of an 8 week old puppy. Sandi is currently fostered in Maryland. We will continue to provide updated pictures and information about her progress in her foster home.
