Princess was taken to a city shelter in Maryland after being found as a stray. The finder noted that she was briefly exposed to children and other dogs, and she was friendly with everyone. Princess even noticed an orphaned kitten crying in the shelter’s lobby and she was very motherly to him. An owner was located for Princess using her microchip, but they decided not to redeem her from the shelter. On the weekend that Princess arrived, the shelter took in 133 stray animals – so Princess was in urgent need of rescue due to overcrowded conditions. Thanks to the quick action of AABR volunteers, Princess was able to leave the shelter with a temporary foster and she then moved to another foster home last weekend. Princess gets along great with other dogs and she has already proven to be a very sweet girl. She was just spayed and Princess will be brought up to date with the rest of her vet care this week. She would love to find a forever home where she will never have to worry about being discarded again in her senior years.
