Penny is a sweet and friendly girl. She gets along great with other dogs and also with people. She has been very interested in the cats, but has not shown any aggression to them. Penny can be skittish at times with loud noises or sudden movements. She knows how to use the doggy door and loves the freedom of being able to go in and out as she pleases. Penny is completely housebroken. She is scheduled for her spay in a couple weeks and Penny will then be ready for her forever home.  She is up to date on all other vet care. Penny does very well in a crate and happily goes in it when her foster family leaves or at bedtime. Coming from a situation with a lot of other dogs, Penny would do best in a new home that already has other dogs, to help her feel more comfortable.  She would also love to have a securely fenced yard.

Penny was surrendered to a shelter with four other boxers after their breeder passed away. She is four years old and is great with other dogs. We do not have any history for Penny around children or cats. She will be arriving at her new foster home in Maryland this weekend, where she will be living with three other boxers and also cats. This may be Penny’s first experience in a car and in a home environment. We will post more information about what kind of home she would do best in as her foster family gets to know her better.
