Lucy has continued to work with a trainer in her foster home and she is making progress.  She will need a family that can continue to work with her.  Lucy will do best in a home with a male dog to help her continue to build confidence and a securely fenced yard, as walks can still be difficult for her.  She is a really sweet girl and will be a wonderful addition to a family that can commit to her.  If you have the time and experience for Lucy, apply today for this young girl!  She is a ready to settle in with a forever family of her own and would love to find her home before her first birthday next month.

Lucy is long, tall, and lean!  She runs and leaps like a gazelle.  Lucy is continuing to build confidence and adapting to her new surroundings.  She loves her people and is very loyal.  Lucy will be your constant shadow as well as a great form of entertainment.  She still needs to learn that the outside world is not a scary place.  Lucy loves her squeaky toys and will entertain herself for hours with them.  She is fully housebroken, but is not a huge fan of her crate at this time.  Lucy has started to work with a trainer on her barking at strangers and anxiety on leash outside of the home.

Lucy has been spayed and is now current on all vet care. She is 5 months old and ready to move to a forever home of her own. Lucy is a very timid girl and she relies on the other two dogs in her foster home. A requirement for Lucy is a male dog that can continue to help her build her confidence. She will also need a securely fenced yard. Lucy is not yet at a point where she is comfortable doing leash walks. She loves to play, to fetch, and to do zoomies in her yard. Lucy’s foster mom reports that she is one of the sweetest dogs she has ever met. Lucy just loves to be with her family. Because she has a lot of puppy chewing at this time and loud noises make her nervous, a home with older kids might be best. Lucy now knows to go to the door and she is almost fully housebroken. We would love to find Lucy a patient home where she can continue to work on her socialization.

Lucy is doing very well in her foster home. She loves being around the two children, who are 7 and 13 years old. Lucy seems to feel very safe and loved around them. It will take some time for her to build her confidence, but her two boxer foster brothers are already helping with that! Her foster family reports that Lucy is a very loving girl and she is going to be a great addition to a lucky family who has the patience and time for socialization. We are in the process of getting Lucy the vet care that she needs, and then she will be ready for a forever home of her own.

We were contacted by a breeder who was no longer able to care for several puppies.  Lucy was a puppy who did not sell from their previous litter.  Thanks to the quick action of several volunteers, we were able to get all of the puppies into foster homes. Lucy will be turning 4 months old in just a few days.  She has never been out of her previous home and away from her parents.  Lucy is a timid girl who would benefit from a patient family and a male dog in the home to help build her confidence and socialization.  Please make sure your home is a good match for a puppy this age before submitting an application. Lucy will need somebody home often to work on her house training and socialization. She will need an active family that is willing to make a lifelong commitment for him.  The resident dog should be able to appreciate the energy and antics of a young puppy.

We will be reviewing all applications and looking for homes that understand and meet the needs of a boxer puppy.  Lucy is currently fostered in Virginia. We will continue to provide updated pictures and information about her progress in her foster home.
