Katie is recovering well from her spay and she has arrived at her new foster home in Maryland. She has spent most of her time in the safety of her crate. Katie will often go to the toy bucket and take the toys back to her crate with her. She does love to get pets, and Katie will lean on her foster mom and put her head in her lap for attention. She is very timid, but does not appear to be fearful of people. Katie is able to do the stairs, but she is learning what a collar and leash are. She is a smart girl and is picking things up quickly! As soon as Katie sees her foster brother, a male boxer, her nub starts going a mile a minute. Katie is opening up more with each day. She would do best in a home with a male dog to help with her confidence. Katie would also love a fenced yard.

Katie was surrendered to a shelter with four other boxers after their breeder passed away. She just turned six years old and is great with other dogs. We do not have any history for Katie around children or cats. She will be arriving at her new foster home in Maryland this weekend, where she will be living with a male boxer. This may be Katie’s first experience in a car and in a home environment. We will post more information about what kind of home she would do best in as her foster family gets to know her better.
