At just 1.5 years old, Kane has lost everything he has known since he was a puppy.  His owner was moving and couldn’t take him with him.  His sibling went to another home that could only take one dog.  Kane has never been off his property or received many visitors.  He moved on Saturday to a new foster home with a senior female boxer, but he now urgently needs a new placement because he is struggling with proper interactions with the other boxer in the home.  Kane will need a patient home that can transition him slowly to his new environment and to new experiences.  He is a timid boy who will need time to settle in.  We feel Kane would do best at this time as an only dog until he has a chance to settle in and be exposed to new things, but he could be placed in a home with another dog if separated initially and given gradual time to learn proper socialization skills.  Kane is completely housebroken and crate trained.  He was crated during the day when his owner was at work.  Kane has never been around cats or young children.  He is used to having a secure fenced yard.  We have a temporary spot for Kane tomorrow, but would really like to find him a more permanent foster so we can finish his vet care and help him on his journey to a forever family.  It would be even better if we could place Kane directly into a forever home so we can limit his transitions.  Kane is currently located in Virginia.  Please submit an application if your home is a match for Kane.
