Hulk is hoping his luck will change for the new year.  He was brought to the shelter to be euthanized last November because his owner said he was old and miserable.  We were able to find a foster home to be able to bring him into rescue, where we discovered that Hulk had a urinary tract infection that had been untreated for quite some time.  After antibiotics, he is feeling so much better.  Hulk was also dealing with significant arthritis, so he is taking medications and supplements for that.  On New Years Eve, Hulk had to be rushed to the emergency vet due to labored breathing.  He had aspiration pneumonia, but has fully recovered with treatment in the hospital and follow up antibiotics.  Hulk would do best with a family that has somebody home during the day to let him out to potty – he needs a break every 4-5 hours.  His favorite things are staying close to his foster mom or snoozing on the couch.  Hulk absolutely loves his food and he is now using a slow feeder.  He has some favorite toys that squeak or make noise.  Hulk is very good when putting on his coat to go outside in the cold.  He enjoys walks, but can’t go too far due to his arthritis.  Hulk is a laid back gentleman who just wants a family to give him the opportunity to enjoy his senior years.  We just found out that Hulk’s current foster home is having a knee replacement in early March, so he will need a new placement.  Ideally, we would love to find an adoptive home so Hulk will only have to make one transition.  If we do not have a home for adoption, though, he will be in urgent need of a new foster placement in the next month.  If you are interested in providing a foster or forever placement for this adorable boxer/bulldog senior, please contact your coordinator or apply today for Hulk!

When Hulk arrived at his foster home, he was having frequent accidents.  We scheduled a vet appointment for him and found out that he has a urinary tract infection.  We don’t know how long he has been dealing with this, but he is now on medication to clear this up.  His foster mom reports that Hulk loves food and treats.  He is very sweet and just started to snuggle with his foster mom.  Hulk does great on leash and loves exploring on his walks.  He will need to remain on his pain meds for arthritis.  Hulk is getting along great with other dogs that he has met.  He would love to find a forever family that will spoil him during his senior years.

Hulk was brought to a shelter in West Virginia to be euthanized because his owner said he was “old and miserable.”  The shelter had bloodwork completed and indicated it was normal.  The vet reported he has a soft palate and arthritis in his elbows, but no other obvious concerns.  At the shelter, he appeared to be a happy and outgoing boy.  The rescue coordinator contacted AABR to see if we could find a home where he could be loved and appreciated.  The shelter was so full that Hulk was in a temporary kennel run outside.  The reported that he did great on his dog test at the shelter and previously lived with another dog.  Hulk prefers not to share his home with cats.  Because one of our foster homes agreed to take Hulk, he was able to be transported to rescue over the weekend.  We are still getting to know him and Hulk is very stressed with all the changes.  He is looking for a committed home to share his senior years with.
