Message for “Name a Dog” donation:
Howie was my first boxer. He was an abuse rescue puppy (only 6 months old at the time) from my local Humane Society, identified as having extreme special needs because of his distrust in people and other dogs from being abused and forced to fight. I did so much to care for and protect him over our 8 years together, including getting him to trust some people and other dogs, but I sadly lost him to the dreaded boxer tumor on his heart last fall. His passing eventually led me to AABR where I was approved to adopt Jack the puppy (formerly John). Jack and I want to make an honorary donation in Howie’s name. I still think about him every day and carry his picture and memory with me always. I hope the donation helps bring another beautiful boxer into someone’s life.

Howie is estimated to be around 2 years old. He was found as a stray in Turkey and is very friendly with both people and other dogs. Howie is being brought up to date on all vet care and will then be waiting for a flight to the United States. He will be looking for an adopter or a foster home when he arrives in New York.
