Duke has been in foster for two months now and we are very surprised that this wonderful boy is still available for adoption. Duke is going to be a great addition to a lucky family. He is now neutered and current on all vet care. Duke continues to thrive in foster and he has left his previous neglect behind. Duke is enjoying the life he never got to experience being chained to a stump. He is very obedient and is a puppy at heart. Duke is now completely housebroken and he will go into his crate without any issues.  He loves going for walks, belly rubs, and playing with toys.  Duke also enjoys meeting other dogs, adults, and children. He loves laying on his pillow and watching everything that goes on outside.  If he sounds perfect, he pretty much is!  Apply today to adopt Duke!

Duke was posted on Facebook as free to a good home by an individual for his neighbor. The post indicated that Duke had been tied out on a chain for years and the owner was now looking for a new home for him. An animal advocate group was able to keep him from ending up in the wrong hands and they worked with the owner to get Duke to our rescue. One of their volunteers met Duke at a park and introduced him to their two dogs along with some children there – and he did great with everyone! Duke was transported to his new foster home in Virginia this weekend. Everyone that met him commented about what a sweet boy he is. Duke has been brought up to date on all vet care and the vet estimated him to be around 4-5 years old. Duke will be neutered soon and then he will be ready for his forever home. His foster mom will provide an update once she gets to know him better.
