Message for “Name a Dog” donation:
I had the sweetest female Rottweiler who unfortunately passed away from cancer at 6 years old. The day she passed happens to be the birthday of our 10 year old Boxer, Piper, that we have now. I feel like it was meant to be that Piper came into our lives.

6/09/22 – Memorial
We had a plan in place for all three boxers. Deeza was driven to the vet for what should have been a routine visit for her health certificate and vaccines for transport. It sadly turned into a life threatening emergency. Deeza was in bad shape. She was severely dehydrated and doing her best to battle pyometra, which is a secondary infection that occurs as a result of hormonal changes in the female’s reproductive tract. This was caused by her not being spayed. Deeza underwent emergency spay surgery, but sadly did not survive. We are broken by this news. We must share this story and the importance of responsible pet ownership, which includes spaying and neutering.

Deeza entered a shelter in Arkansas as a cruelty case along with her two sons, Kane and Preston. She is coming from a rural, overcrowded shelter and all three will be looking for a foster home when they arrive in New York.
