5/20/25 – Memorial
Clifford was born and raised to produce puppies for the Amish, suffering a lonely and miserable existence for ten excruciating years.  Clifford was nothing to them.  During his short time with Adopt a Boxer Rescue, he was family.  Clifford went for car rides and walks to the park.  He then was lucky enough to find a loving foster home.  He walked in the rain in a raincoat, went to work with his foster mom, and was lavished by hugs and kisses from everyone who met him.  Clifford’s quiet strength, his soulful eyes, and his resilience taught us lessons that no words ever could.  This journey with Clifford has been emotionally exhausting for those that knew and loved him.  Every day was lived in hope – a hope that maybe, just maybe, he would stay with us a little longer.  The prognosis wasn’t kind, but Clifford found a way with his tail wagging.  Clifford was set free this afternoon and passed with quiet dignity, surrounded by love in the only home he ever knew that treated him well.  And even though our hearts are shattered, we are grateful.  We are grateful for the time he gave us and for the trust he placed in us.  Run free now, Clifford.  There is no more pain – just soft grass, a warm sun, and the peace you deserve.  We love you always and forever, our King Clifford James Martin.

5/15/25 – Update
Big Clifford is settling in great.  He is a total love bug and adores people.  Clifford had a rough life, but he is super forgiving and has nothing but love to share.  At this time, Clifford is being treated for a brain tumor.  He has lost most of his vision and his hearing isn’t the best either.  Clifford is doing well with the treatment plan that the neurologist has developed for him.  He is learning every day what life should be like and Clifford has enjoyed going to work with his foster mom.

5/5/25
Five years ago, Clifford was imported from Russia and sold to an Amish farmer.  His entire ten years of existence has been totally devoid of joy.  Clifford walks without purpose and doesn’t know free will.  He is well mannered around other female dogs, willingly goes into a crate, and leash walks with ease.  Clifford is gentle, forgiving, and asks for nothing.  He has compromised vision, so the ideal home would be one that has a fenced yard and limited access to stairs.
