Arthur has made a lot of progress over the last several months with his foster sister, a deaf female boxer. He just needs a home that can provide consistent rules and structure for him. If placed with another dog, Arthur will need slow introductions and a confident owner.   The other dog must be able to keep up with Arthur’s energy and style of play.  We have discovered that Arthur can jump a shorter fence, so a tall fenced yard is a must for him. He is used to being with his foster family during the day and Arthur is a great office dog during the work day. He is a very sweet boy with people and has the softest fur and best underbite! Arthur is still looking for a good match for adoption. Over Thanksgiving, he was great with a young child and they had fun chasing each other around the yard. Arthur also did wonderful with all the new people that he got to meet for the holiday. He is still very unsure about new dogs when first meeting them and it does take Arthur some time to warm up. If placed in a home with a female dog, Arthur will need slow introductions. Based on his scars, he may have had negative experiences in the past with other dogs. Once Arthur is comfortable, he does play very rough and he doesn’t always know his limits.   We feel he would likely do best as an only dog or he could possibly be placed with a confident, young female who can keep up with his style of play and who can help him learn appropriate boundaries. Arthur listens well and knows his basic commands, but will need structure and rules in his new home. A tall, fenced yard is a requirement for Arthur’s specific needs. He is used to somebody being home with him during the day. Arthur loves his crate and this is his safe place. He just wants to be around people and to cuddle in your lap. Arthur was found as a stray and is estimated to be around 2 years of age. We don’t know anything about his previous life, but Arthur has significant scarring around his head and neck. Despite what he endured, he is extremely sweet with people. Arthur just arrived at his new foster home and he is doing great with his foster sister, a deaf female boxer. Arthur loves his crate, loves all people, and he appears to be housebroken. Arthur also knows his basic commands such as sit, stay, and down. His foster family report that he is an awesome boy and such a ham!
