Maverick ended up at the local county pound when he was found running at large and going after chickens.  His owner never came to the pound to reclaim him.  An organization reached out to AABR to see if we had a foster that could take Maverick.  At the shelter, he was very shy with people and he did great with his dog test.  Maverick was able to be transported to his new foster home in Virginia last week.  He is settling in well!  Maverick was very timid at first and while he’s still skittish at loud or sudden noises, he is gaining more confidence each day and showing his personality.  Maverick is house-trained, but we’re working on crate training.  He LOVES attention from his people and he always wants to be close to you.  Maverick will be getting neutered tomorrow and he will then be ready for adoption.  He is currently in a foster home as an only dog, but he can be placed with a female dog as well!
