We just lost our dog this weekend. His name was Nalu and he was an am staff. He lived his life as a sibling to both our boxers and was the perfect mellow to their constant energy. He will be sorely missed and eternally loved.

4/14/25 – Update
Nalu was returned to rescue because the resident dog in his new home is going to need ACL surgery and limited activity.  His adopters did not feel they could provide Nalu with the training, attention, and exercise that he will need.  They report that Nalu is the sweetest and smartest puppy.  He is now 3 months old.  Nalu is currently in a foster home with three other resident dogs and he is fitting in nicely.  He loves being around the other dogs and will need a dog in his new home that can appreciate the energy and playfulness of a puppy this age.  Nalu has been doing daily walks with one of the other boxers and he is doing great on leash.  He doesn’t like to be left alone and isn’t a fan at all of the crate at this time.  He does much better when he can be left with the other dogs near him.  Nalu has shown that he is a very well behaved puppy.  He would enjoy having a securely fenced yard and a family that is home enough to meet his needs.  If you are interested in adopting and can commit to his needs, apply today for Nalu.

We were able to help a second litter of puppies in rescue over the weekend. We were contacted by a breeder who was no longer able to care for the puppies. Thanks to the quick action of several volunteers, we were able to get all of the puppies into foster homes. They just turned 7 weeks old today and will be ready to go to their new homes next week (February 26th). Please make sure your home is a good match for a puppy this age before submitting an application. Nalu will need somebody home often to work on his house training and socialization. He will need an active family that is willing to make a lifelong commitment for him. If there is another dog in the home, they need to be able to appreciate the energy and antics of a young puppy.

We will be reviewing all applications and looking for homes that understand and meet the needs of an 8 week old puppy. Nalu is currently fostered in Maryland. We will continue to provide updated pictures and information about his progress in his foster home.
