Gunner was the nickname of my dad growing up. As Christmas gifts, my parents and my husband’s parents will get a “dog” through your name a dog donation program.

Gunner has been the perfect house guest in his foster home. He is housebroken and walks well on leash. Gunner doesn’t get on the couch or the bed. He just learned that dog beds are amazing and he snores really loud! Gunner is also learning that toys are fun. He has been getting along well with the other dogs in his foster home. They love to play and run together. Gunner is his foster mom’s shadow and he wants to be near people more than anything else. He will nudge his big head into you when he wants attention. Gunner knows his basic commands and he is a quick learner. He goes into his pen with a treat and just waits for your return. Gunner will be a big boy when he completely fills out. He has been a gentle giant, though.  Gunner has not had any issues meeting new people. His foster home has not experienced the jumping that Gunner did at the shelter when he was stressed there.   She indicates that this special boy is going to be a great family dog.  Apply today if you are interested in adopting Gunner.

Gunner was found as a stray and was taken to a shelter in Maryland. He is estimated to be around 3-4 years of age. Gunner knows some basic commands and he has been very friendly with people. During the shelter’s behavior assessment, Gunner did well when introduced to other dogs. He does need some work with jumping on people, so a home with older children may be best. Gunner will sit nicely to take treats. He will be neutered this week and then will be going to a foster home in Maryland with several other dogs. We will update his website page once we get to know Gunner better.
