Willow continues to make great progress with each week in foster. She has learned the routines in her foster home and is much less fearful. Willow’s foster brother, a male boxer, has been a huge help with her becoming comfortable in the home and gaining confidence. She went on vacation with her foster family to the beach and did wonderful in the car. Willow has also learned to walk much more confidently on leash. Other than a brief whine when she is getting fed, she is a very quiet girl in the home. Willow loves stuffed toys and nylabones. She is fully housebroken, has been eating well, and sleeps great through the night. Willow’s foster family reports that it has been a joy to watch her start to wag her tail, play with their resident boxer, and come out of her shell more with each week. She would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and a male dog to help continue to guide her with her progress. If you are interested in having this sweet girl join your family, apply today for Willow!

Willow has been in her foster home for two weeks now and she has made a lot of progress. When she first arrived, Willow was very timid – especially around loud or unusual noises. She also startled very easily. She is getting used to the noises in a home and Willow has mastered the stairs. She has a good appetite and has not had any accidents. Willow gets along great with her foster brother, a male boxer, and we feel a male dog in her new home will be very beneficial for her confidence. Her foster family reports that Willow is a gentle and quiet girl. She is very food motivated and Willow has learned that freeze dried beef liver is her favorite treat in the world. Willow will need a patient home to continue to help her build her confidence.

Willow was surrendered to a shelter due to the poor living conditions in her home. The shelter was struggling with space and Willow was absolutely terrified in the shelter environment, so they reached out for rescue help. They reported that Willow was very shy and she was great around the other dogs. We were able to help Willow due to the offer of a foster home from previous adopters in Maryland. Willow was transported to her foster home over the weekend and it was a relief to see the difference in her photos from the worried look at the shelter to her smile on her freedom ride.  Willow is currently in foster with a male boxer.  We will update her page once Willow gets settled in and her foster family learns more about her.
