Message for “Name a Dog” donation:
Jasper was the name of my 10 year old Boxer that passed away in 2021 from cancer. He was the most loving and gentle dog I’ve known. I would love to see his namesake carried on. The name also means the bringer of treasure and I feel like Jasper brought me so, so many treasured memories.

Jasper was recently moved to a new foster home where he would have some younger dog companions to play and socialize with. He is a very smart 5 month old puppy who settled in quickly with his new pack. He will need some work on his crate training and getting used to riding in a car. He is already showing improvements with things such as housetraining and managing stairs. With some continued consistency and training, Jasper is going to be a great addition to a lucky family. He will be neutered this week and then will be ready for a family of his own. We would like to place Jasper in a home with at least one other dog companion and a securely fenced yard.

Jasper is doing well in his foster home. He loves playing with his foster sister, a female Great Dane. Jasper also enjoys early morning cuddles with his foster mom.   He would love to find a forever home with another dog to help keep him socialized and a securely fenced yard to run and play in. A shelter in West Virginia seized over thirty dogs from a breeder who became overwhelmed and was not properly caring for them. AABR had already transported a mom and five puppies into rescue several weeks ago. We were able to get four additional 4 month old puppies out of the shelter and into foster homes in Maryland this weekend. All of the dogs are being seen at the vet and treated for their past neglect and lack of vet care. Jasper (donated name) is now in a foster home with a female dog. He will see a vet for the first time this week. Jasper’s foster mom indicates that he is settling in well and he really wants to play with his foster sister. Jasper is an energetic boy who would love a securely fenced yard and another dog in the home to socialize and learn from.  Jasper is enjoying life inside a loving home and will be ready soon for a forever family.
