Adopt A Boxer Rescue promotes the need for active participation of owners in the training of their dogs.

In are increasing attempt to try and prevent more dogs from becoming strays or being surrendered due to behavior issues, AABR supports the need for owners to become active partners in their dog's training.  AABR hosts training events from time to time in our area, and will also post other training events that we feel will assist our efforts towards this goal.

Please bookmark this page and stop by often to see what we are doing.

                  ________________________________

Meeting address at the Lackawanna Bar Assoc headquarters 338 N. Washington Ave Scranton PA. Noon till 5PM

Adopt A Boxer Rescue will hold it's Annual Meeting on June 13, 2009, from Noon to 6PM, in Scranton, PA.

Under discussion at this year’s meeting will be the care and training of foster homes, adoption application administration, adoption follow-ups, foster/volunteer safety, medical treatment authorization, on-line foster dog update forms, our new database for adoption app administration, and discussion of our our past year’s accomplishments and future plans.

We’ve had a very successful year, in no small part due to the great group of volunteers that work tirelessly each day to care for and re-home these boxers.  We couldn’t do it without them.

And we thank you for your contributions, offering your help and advice, and helping us help the dogs.  We hope we have earned your support.

AABR Benefit Golf Tournament

On Saturday, May30th, AABR will hold their second annual benefit golf tournament!  This tournament is being held to raise funds so that AABR can continue to help save the lives of homeless boxers!  AABR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, unwanted and sick boxers through out the east coast.

Everyone is invited to participate in the golf tournament!  The tournament will be held at Briarwood Golf Course (East) located at 4775 West Market Street, York, PA 17408.  Registration begins at 11am and a shotgun start is planned for noon.  The cost is $75 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner, drinks and many fabulous prizes!

We are also requesting help from local businesses.  We are asking for prize donations for the raffles we will be having.  Donations can be anything from a gift certificate from a local restaurant, pet store, salon, spa, etc., to an item donated that can be used as a raffle prize during the golf tournament.

Businesses can also sponsor a hole for $100 or choose to be a major sponsor for $500 (which includes two signs and golf for a team of four).  The business name will be placed on a sign at a hole on the course during play, letting everyone know that the business cares about the community and has made a sizable donation.

If you would like to participate in the tournament, make a donation, or sponsor a hole, please contact Bonnie or Todd Rohrbaugh at 717-235-9110 or 717-515-3025 or by email to brohrbaugh@wildblue.net and request a registration form.  Registration and payment must be received by May 16th, 2008.

Spots are filling up quickly so please send your registration forms in soon!  Your help is greatly appreciated!  With your help, we can continue to save these wonderful dogs.  Thank you!

High Quality, Adopt a Boxer Rescue Polo Golf Shirts are now available.

Hi Everyone
Here's the official flyer for this years event.

Please feel free to post it wherever you think it will get us some attention, and bring people out to participate in this fun filled day.

We definitely need some volunteers to help out that day as well, including anyone who can bring their foster dogs down. We did get some applications from last years event, so please try and attend.

If you can't make it, then please try and help us out with donations for the raffle baskets. We need any type of gift cards, bottles of wine,  games for our family fun night raffle baskets, certificates to the ZOO, or Putt Putt, use your imagination! We'll need some baked goods donations as well.

We're just over 2 months out so mark your calendar, and feel free to contact me for more info.
